During my Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at King’s College London, I focused on the conflicts that have shaped Africa, from the era of independence to the present day.
At Georgetown University, I specialized in the political economy of developing regions, which further deepened my understanding of the African continent.
I was able to put this academic knowledge into practice through two distinct professional experiences. First, my internship at a geopolitical risk consulting firm specialised in the Sahel strengthened my analytical skills and enhanced my understanding of the region’s current political and security challenges. Second, my Master’s Practicum led me to ReBin, its application of circular economy principles, and its project “Organic Waste for Clean Water”. Over the course of one semester, I transformed the project’s description into a concise yet detailed business plan that can be replicated by other NGOs seeking to achieve financial autonomy for humanitarian initiatives that are often overly dependent on donations.
I was particularly drawn to the social and environmental impact, as well as the ingenuity, of the “Waste for Water” project. More broadly, I am convinced that circular economy systems of this kind contribute both to economic development and to conflict prevention. This conviction motivates me to dedicate part of my time to advancing ReBin’s work.
